ON CHARACTER AMY : ‘She’s good fun and provides a broad shoulder to cry on. Most people love her, especially children.. she vivacious and larger than life and can be quite flirtatious – I think she goes out and about with musicians. She is certainly no wallflower and sometimes favours a rather nice lime green skirt. But she doesn’t quite live up to my off-screen outfits!’

ON LEAVING CASUALTY : ‘I need to do other things now and CASUALTY is a massive commitment. It gets bigger every year.. I just need to go and have a little try elsewhere. Music mainly – there are a lot of things in the pipeline. Recording contracts and tour dates… I’ve absolutely loved my time on CASUALTY and am very grateful to the show.’

BEST/WORST MOMENTS ON CASUALTY : ‘A high point was when the writers worked it into the show that I sang my single.. not many low points at all – except perhaps trying to find new ways of saying ‘Can you take a seat please, the doctor will see you shortly!’

ON SINGING : ‘Singing is my first love. There’s nothing like singing the blues in a smokey club when people are in the mood for love.’

Her other recording work includes solo singing for BBC’s sci-Fi Select and the soundtrack for the feature film Relic.
