Former HOLBY CITY actor Adrian Edmondson has paid tribute to his long-term comedy partner Rik Mayall, following his sudden death today.
In a statement, Adrian said ‘There were times when Rik and I were writing together when we almost died laughing.
‘They were some of the most carefree stupid days I ever had, and I feel privileged to have shared them with him.
‘And now he’s died for real. Without me. Selfish b*****d.’
The pair met at Manchester University and went on to become two of comedy’s biggest names, starring in Bottom and The Young Ones.
Adrian led tributes as a number of celebrities expressed their sadness at Rik’s untimely death.
