Ireland’s Evening Herald newspaper online has revealed that original cast member Brenda Fricker is set to make a return to CASUALTY next year.
Brenda played SEN Megan Roach in the first five series of the show and made a guest appearance at Charlie & Baz’s wedding in 2008 and more recently in 2007’s Comic Relief Special episode. She is set to appear in a number of episodes next year however it will be a short return for Brenda, as Megan is set to meet her maker.
She told the newspaper, ‘I loved CASUALTY, it was great. I’m back next year for four episodes. I die. I don’t know if I should be telling you that, but yes, I die.’
Fans on holby.tv have received the news with a mixed response. Thrilled to see the return of such a nostalgic character but concerns over her character being brought back only to be killed off, reminiscent of Baz’s (Julia Watson) death back in Series 18 which failed to do justice.
