I have had another amazing few days with the shetlands!! Got up there on the wednesday at about 8ish so didnt have tiem to do anyting in the evening just relaxed with Steph and her family. Then the Thursday was Crosby show. Quite a small localish show (20mins from the yard) we took Precious and Bailey the foal, Kayman the stallion, Amethyst and a yearling called Ella-ray (might have spelt that wrong..) who had never been to a show before!! I was put incharge of taking care of Bailey and trying to extract hay seeds from his mane (NOT and easy task cause the little terror had rubbed them in really well..
Precious and Bailey both came first, Kayman came Second, Amethyst came second too and Ella-ray came 4th out of 6 in her very first show and behaved like an angel!!
In the afternoon I hacked out Scooby with Laura (Stephs daughter) on Rosie and we had a few trots and a short canter along the roadside too!! he was lovely to ride, little more responsive than rosie but also quite fun!
On Friday I groomed Rosie and Scooby, then I groomed Kayman and helped wash another mare - Velvet ready for the show on saturday! then I hacked out Rosie aroudn the block on her own (she was an angel!) then I also took Scooby out with Steph walking the dogs and he was a good boy too!!!
I also met four year old Teagan who was riding Ginger Lauras old pony in her first ever show on the Saturday! Poor Ginger was given a full bath including half a bottle of bubble bath being poured over him so he turned white and frothy!! but afterwards I had seriously never seen a more shiny coat!!
Saturday was show day. 5.30am start!! In the lorry for 6 and on the way down to Malham a slightly bigger but still small show with Kayman, Velvet and Precious and Bailey. It chucked it down but luckily brightened up intime to sort the ponies out - I was incharge of Bailey again (who was in a mood and a half!!!) after Kayman's class (he came first!) we took Velvet, Precious and Bailey to the ring (Bailey stormed off like a right independent little thing away from his mum followed Velvet instead and did a few leaps on the way!). Velvet came first and Precious and Bailey both second so I got to take Bailey in the championship again and someone was taking pictures (one of those online photo places that comes to take pictures at shows) so theres a picture of me leading him around!!
Me (with very messy hair) leading Bailey the foal!!
When we got back we just relaxed then took all the ponies to the fields moved Ravenglass (a two year old) into the mare and foal field to Kayman could go back in with the mare he was covering (Ravenglass had been keeping her company whilst he was showing)! But when we put her in the field with the mares and foals 12 week old Wasdale decided he had a crush on her and chased her then mounted her (and Mungrizdale joined in so poor Ravenglass had two of them to shake off!!!
Then I had to come home
Rode Fancy yesterday too! Julie still driving me nuts.. she was fussing aroudn Fancy and it was obvious fancy didnt care at all.. she couldnt get her to pick her foot up and then I got her to do it first try...

Ems : Sounds like you had a great time
I took Arney pony to a show at the start of August. We did the Prelim 12 & Prelim 18. The hack down there was interesting as Arney doesn't like scary Lorries & Tractors
He was very excited when we got the field for the dressage, so we had to neigh at everything
But the judge was so lovely, she found someone to call my test and let me restart
So photos : PS: I know how fat Arney was, but he now is on a very strict diet

Loving everyones pictures, and everyone seems to be getting on fab! Well done with the dressage Ty, that's awesome
Just spent the weekend with my sister at the riding club champs - they won the pairs, won the team riders test, she won her arena for the riders test (over 82%!), team 2nd + individual 4th for junior dressage + 7th+ 11th for style jumping. Very successful weekend I'd say!
Working at a local race yard/horse swimming yard atm, they all started being ridden today, + none of them killed me

I've been back to the shetlands again since my last post!
I was hacking out Scooby (hes gorgeous to ride!) and Laura Stephs daughter was riding Rosie on wednesday evening in t-shirts because it was sunny and we got part way back and suddenly it chucked it down, rain, wind, hail the lot! Steph drove out ot find us and hand to drive back behind us with the van's hazards on... we got to the foals field and the next thing we knwo there is thunder and lightning and the foals and mares are galloping abotu but thankfully Rosie and Scooby were safe as houses! But we were ever so slightly soaked from head to foot..
I also have some new pictures to share!!!
Firstly and most importantly meet Wasdale!!!

Dow Crag and Mungrisdale

Mungrisdale meets smokey the cat...

Ellaray theifing hay!!

The filly foal - Catsycam

Bailey and one of the mares (probably Precious - might be Dow)

Bailey (The black foal - I'm pretty sure) and Bleaberry Tarn (the coloured foal) and a few of the others in the field

Mungrisdale, Bailey, Bleaberry Tarn grooming one of the mares probably Precious, Sunshine or ow crag.

Wasdale, Bleaberry and Ravenglass (yearling whos tail was eaten by one of the other ponies so they can't show her

Is Kayman a Stallion or a Zebra?!?!
