FAMILY : Lizzy is one of six children, one of her brothers being Tim, who starred in Blackadder. On her family, ‘My Dad’s a film buff and my mother would go to the theatre every night if she could, it wasn’t surprising that two of my brothers and I took it up. Two of the others are involved in acting in an amateur way too, so there’s always a new role to talk about at home.’
PARTNER : Boyfriend TV director, Jake Allerbach, on their first date, she sprained her ankle, ‘I got my foot stuck in a drain and tore some tendons, Jake spent almost five hours with me while I waited to have an x-ray, what a romantic way to get to know someone.’
STUDIED : Royal Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She has also worked at the Royal Court and the Bush Theatres.
ON PLAYING LAURA : ‘Playing twentysomethings in most of those series was beginning to be too much of a stretch, it’s great to be playing Laura, someone of my own age.’
ON GORY SCENES : Lizzy admits to being very squeamish, ‘I have to switch off when anybody starts to walk towards dangerous farm equipment or something orthopedic involving sawing of the bone looks likely to happen.. I was so glad wasn’t involved in any of that. But there is a point at which she has to shadow Jude to see how the department works and even though I knew the blood was only make up, my stomach was turning.’
ON LAURA AND ASH : ‘All I can say is that I have a hunch Laura and Ash will do eachother alot of good.. she meets him when she’s at the point of re-evaluating her life and he’s at a similar point.’
ON CASUALTY CAST : ‘I loved being part of the team.’
