holby.tv can reveal the news that will disappoint fans - popular Ben Turner and Georgia Taylor are set to leave the show.
BBC Publicity confirmed to holby.tv; "Ben and Georgia leave the show before Christmas in an explosive, heart-stopping episode."
Ben Turner has been playing the role of nurse Jay Faldren since October 2008, his most recent storyline showed a more vulnerable side to the normally happy-go-lucky Jay when he was diagnosed with testicular cancer. Meanwhile Ben has already got work lined up after CASUALTY, he is due to appear in Richard II from December at the Donmar Warehouse.
Georgia has played doctor Ruth Winters since September 2007 and has endured some of the show's most dramatic storylines including attempted suicide and being admitted to a psychiatric award.
But it's Ruth's on-off romance with nurse Jay that has captured fan's hearts. Will they get their happy ending?
