CASUALTY actor Nigel Harman and his dance partner Katya Jones got off to a perfect start in their first week performing on Strictly Come Dancing.
Dancing the Paso Doble to Smells Like Teen Spirit, the pair closed the show but got top of the leaderboard with 32 points.
The pair received high praise from the judging panel, with head judge Shirley Ballas saying the actor was the “one to beat”, while Motsi Mabuse added the dance was “absolutely spectacular”.
Meanwhile, Craig Revel Horwood said: “I tell you what I wouldn’t want to be the competition with you around, darling. That was the dance of the night!”
Anton Du Beke added: “To come out and do that with that power, that intensity. You stole the night.”
As well as appearing on Strictly this week, Nigel also won Best Drama Star at this year’s Inside Soap Awards, that was held on 25th September.
