Episode Summary
DCI Harry Hutchinson ends up on dangerous ground. Following the murder of informant Steven Price, DI John Keenan confides in Harry about his suspicions of a mole at the station and that he feels PC Billy Jackson could be in the frame. Harry realises he has the perfect opportunity to deflect any suspicion from him to the young PC and uses him as a scapegoat.
After a string of raids on suspected paedophiles, Inspector Jenny Black’s husband, Alex, is among those hauled into the station for questioning. She’s convinced of her husband’s innocence, and both Jenny and John are stunned that DS Luke French has even brought him in, let alone the fact that he is also intent on questioning him. John interviews Alex, but the evidence against him starts stacking up and Alex’s reluctance to talk does not help his case. However, while Luke is searching through Alex’s computer for further evidence, he discovers the real reason for his silence: video footage which Alex has filmed as evidence to prove that his wife is having an affair.
