Episode Summary
Sharon, who has Alzheimer’s, stumbles across a rowdy barbecue where a brawl breaks out. Her husband suffers a stroke in an attempt to defend her, and a pregnant woman goes into labour. At the hospital, Amber won’t give up her baby to social services, and refuses to leave her partner. In her efforts to persuade Amber, Maggie is head-butted. Amber’s partner, Terry, is in a desperate hurry to get the baby out of ED, but both Maggie and Tess smell a rat.Abs’s sense of responsibility towards Stacey starts to get in the way of his nursing duties. Charlie picks him up on it, but Abs later feels let down when Stacey deteriorates further.
Toby, meanwhile, has asked Maggie out to dinner, to say thanks for all her help and support. She’s been looking forward to it, and has had to turn down one of Charlie’s subtle advances. At the end of the day, though, she makes a shocking discovery – she finds Toby and Joanne in bed together..
