Tessa Peake-Jones, best known for her role as Raquel in the BBC sitcom Only Fools and Horses, has joined the cast of Holby City as Acting-CEO Imelda Cousins following the surprise departure of Henrik Hanssen.
In an upcoming storyline Hanssen, played by Guy Henry, goes AWOL from the hospital and is replaced by Imelda Cousins who arrives initially on a short-term acting basis, while the hospital board work out a longer term plan. Imelda really needs and wants this new job to work out and she is determined to prove herself– both for her own sense of self-worth and to prove a point to the world – she is certainly not to be messed with.
Justin Young, Consultant Series Producer says: “We were delighted that the fantastic Tessa Peake-Jones agreed to come and join our brilliant cast at Holby. She is absolutely compelling as the tricky, fastidious, complicated Imelda Cousins and Imelda’s appointment as Acting CEO will have huge consequences for some of our best-loved characters. In the build up to Christmas, her brilliant performance will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.”
Tessa Peake-Jones says: “I’m loving the chance to come into the show as the top dog – working on all the wards and bossing everyone around is just my cup of tea!”
Tessa’s first appearance will be on Tuesday 20th November.
