S10 E8 (4 Nov 95) : Battling On by Ann Marie di Mambro
Episode Summary
A mother of two is in debt. One of her sons is beaten up and she assumes it is her older boy, a ‘bad lot’; infact it is her well-behaved younger son who is in casualty. He has been attacked by her creditors as a warning.
A Salvation Army officer falls in love again with a childhood sweetheart, now married and not a Salvationist. Distressed, he crashes his car; in hospital he says he will leave the Army. But the woman refuses to be the reason he abandons his faith.
An innocuous middle-aged secret cross-dresser falls downstairs and is taken to casualty in women’s clothes. Despite the tact of the hospital staff, the man’s wife sees his stilettoes. Appalled, she blames herself.
