Holby.tv are sad to report that actress Judy Loe has died at the age of 78.
Judy played CEO Jan Goddard in Series 16 of CASUALTY and was also a love interest for Charlie Fairhead. She also appeared in nine episodes of sister show HOLBY CITY in the same role.
She had an extensive acting career having appeared in other shows such as Ace of Wands, Z-Cars, Edward the Seventh, General Hospital, Monty Python’s The Meaning of Life and Inspector Morse. She was also an original member of the musical Hair.
Born in Urmston, Judy is the mother of film actress Kate Beckinsale whom she had with the late actor Richard Beckinsale. She was married to actor Roy Battersby who died last year.
Her daughter, who announced her death said, “Jude was the compass of my life, the love of my life, my dearest friend. The vastness and huge heart of this tiny woman has touched so many people who love her dearly. She has been brave in so many ways, forgiving sometimes too much, believing in the ultimate good in people and the world is so dim without her that it is nearly impossible to bear.”
