S11 E16 (28 Dec 96) : The Homecoming by Chris Lang
Episode Summary
Paroled after fifteen years, a sex offender is en route to his mother. His victim’s parents live nearby and, together with local vigilantes, have mixed reactions. The victim’s father ends up in A&E when he clashes with the vigilantes, as does the offender who is beaten up. In a cubicle the remorseful offender asks the father to smother him, but though he wants to do it he cannot.
Jack attempts to save the life and unborn child of a heart attack victim, wife of a skinhead also just released from prison. But the woman dies, leaving her husband with nothing.
Jude decides to have an abortion, and Matt offers to go with her. Gloria discovers that Richard has MS; he explains he did not tell her as he does not want pity.
