Duffy wakes up in a hotel room, having slept with Bill. Full of guilt, she sends him away and gets ready to leave. On her way out, she hears a call for help and reluctantly treats Naima, who was found by her fiancé Hamid, passed out in the hotel swimming pool.
Duffy lies that she was at a meeting when Ruby and Iain arrive to scoop Naima. Charlie meets the ambulance at the ED and the two embrace and apologise for the day before. Nervous, Duffy lets him know that she stayed at a hotel to clear her head. She lies that she went on a walk and found herself there.
Elsewhere, Gem gets jealous when Rash and Jamila bond over medicine and their upcoming medics ball. Seeing this, Ethan gets Alicia involved in his plan to get Gem and Rash together. Alicia gives Gem her dress to wear to the infamous 999 ball, where so many relationships get their start.
