Two former CASUALTY cast are joining the cast of Coronation Street.
Chris Colquhoun, who played registrar Simon Kaminski between 2002-04 has already started filming on the ITV soap in the role of Matt Davis, new fiance of Dev Alahan’s ex-wife Sunita (Shobna Gulati).
Corrie bosses are planning a string of confrontations between jealous Dev (Jimmi Harkishin) and Matt after Dev discovers Sunita’s marriage plans. An insider added of Shobna and Chris, ‘There’s a terrific chemistry between them and they are a perfect match physically and mentally.’
Meanwhile, actor Ben Price, who played Manager Nathan Spencer from 2005-08 will appear onscreen from December, taking over the role of Nick Tilsey.
He will become the third actor to take on Nick, previously played by Warren Jackson and Adam Rickett. The bad boy is set to cause mayhem on the street as he runs into his half-brother David’s (Jack P. Shepherd) gorgeous ex-girlfriend Tina McIntyre (Michelle Keegan) at Christmas.
Ben said, ‘I have been seen a couple of times for Coronation Street characters in the past few years, but I am pleased now that I didn’t get those roles. I am really looking forward to stamping my own mark on the character of Nick.’
