This week’s HOLBY CITY heads to Dubai to delve into the mysterious past of nurse Faye Morton…
In the wake of her recent arrest, viewers will learn through flashbacks during Faye’s interview, that she was married to fellow nurse, James (James Thorton) and they were both working in Dubai to finance the purchase of a nursing home back in the UK.
During their time in Dubai, Faye meets registrars Jac and Joseph, who have flown over to perform vital surgery on one of her patients, Mohammed – who is the son of a rich and influential local man.
It’s not long before the couple run into problems during the operation which was originally scheduled to be performed by Joseph’s father, Lord Byrne. However Faye helps cover for the pair and the operation is eventually deemed a success.
Meanwhile, Faye faces troubles of her own when a drunken James admits that he spent the money she gave him towards the nursing home on diamonds – which have turned out to be fake. Faye is furious that her savings are gone and her dreams shattered and an angry scuffle erupts.
We next see James’ lifeless body laying in a pool of blood, whilst Faye joins Jac and Joseph on a plane to the UK. The question is to whether it was Faye that caused his death. Patsy Kensit, who plays Faye, reveals ‘It does get pretty physical between her and James – but all I can say is that if someone attacked me, I’d use all my strength to fight back. And Faye has a lot of courage in that way.’
She also hints, ‘There are other secrets which are yet to come out but I can’t say too much. Let’s just say James isn’t her first husband!’
Of her time filming the episode, Patsy concluded ‘It’s a beautiful place and I enjoy hard work, but filming in 42 degrees was tough.’
