Hi, what are you looking for?

Cas Actor

Will Mellor

Plays Jack Vincent

DATE OF BIRTH : 3rd April 1976. ‘I’m told I’m fiery and passionate, which are typical Aries traits.’

BORN : Stockport, Cheshire

FAMILY : Mother, Shirley, who works in a cafe and his father, Bill, who was a welder, until he injured himself in a motorbike accident. He is the youngest of five children, having four sisters – one called Cheryl and also a disabled sister called Joanne. On growing up with women, ‘It’s probably helped me get on with women better and they’re the reason I’ve got quite a sensitive side. Being the youngest it was always ‘Go on sing for your Auntie. Do that funny little dance’, which meant I was performing at an early age and gave me the confidence to act.’

CHILDREN : Son Jayden, (b. 2004) and daughter Renee (b.2008)

RELATIONSHIPS : Married singer/dancer Michelle McSween in 2007, they met when they worked together in the musical ‘Oh What a Night’. Also previously dated Angela Griffin.

STUDIED : Julie Beach School of Dance and Drama

PREVIOUS JOBS : Worked in a warehouse, shrink wrapping pallets full of industrial sized bottles of washing up liquid.

PETS : A parrot called Jake.

ON BEING ON CASUALTY : ‘I’m delighted to be in one of my favourite shows.’

ON CHARACTER JACK : ‘Jack is a cheeky chappie and a bit of a ladies man. He will be an outlet when things get depressing in the show. He’s a bit of a nutter, doing things like trying to sell household stuff to the bereaved.’

SIMILARITIES WITH JACK : ‘He is me – magnified! Our take on life is the same; he likes a laugh and a joke and he likes to party and so do I.’

ON BEING LIKE HIS TV CHARACTERS : ‘Course there is! They’re all me and I love that, I’ve got no desire to go out there and do Shakespeare.’

ON JACK’S BEST & WORST TRAITS : ‘The Emergency Department can be a grim place, there is so much heavy stuff going on. Jack helps to lighten everyone’s mood; he’s got a good comedy vibe and cheers people up. But he can sometimes take things too far and not know when to draw the line and what is appropriate. He’s also hot-headed and hasn’t a clue how to deal with women!’

ON WHO WOULD JACK GIVE THE KISS OF LIFE TO : ‘Lara Stone. Jack’s jaw hits the floor every time he sees her. She is his dream woman, his ideal – but he knows he doesn’t stand a chance with her.’

ON LIFE : ‘I’ve matured in the last few years and got a hold of my life but I still don’t see myself settling. I just want to have a laugh and enjoy my life.’

ON WOMEN : ‘I like a woman with confidence and a little arrogance. I like attitude – a woman who thinks I’m not good enough for her. The chase and all that stuff is a challenge. You either wear them down or just go in for the kill and they tell you to get lost.’

FAVE FOOD : ‘I love spicy stuff and can cook pasta with ready-made stir-in sauces, but a kebab on the way home from partying is a real belter.’

FAVE MUSIC : ‘Music is a big part of my life still and I listen to hip-hop, R&B, soul and singers like Stevie Wonder.’

FAVE TV PROGRAMME : ‘It has to be The Young Ones. I have every episode on video.’

FAVE FILMS : Goodfellas, Braveheart, Scarface, The Champ

HOBBIES : Boxing, gym, piano, fishing

PET HATE : ‘Mornings. I can’t stand the sun and hate getting up before 11am.’

DESCRIBE HIMSELF IN THREE WORDS : Random, immense, blip

HEALTH ADVICE HE IGNORES : ‘I drink a lot of beer and do love going out partying. I work hard and would much rather go out to a bar and chill than worry about working out. But sometimes after too many nights out I feel a bit guilty and will do some exercise.’

HOW HE KEEPS IN SHAPE : ‘I still do a bit of boxing in the gym with professional boxers and love football, but haven’t got the time at the moment. The guys here have tried to get me into golf, but I’m not sure if it’s for me.’

HOW HE RELAXES : ‘I can just sit and play the piano for hours, that’s a good way of chilling. I also go fishing with my mates, but my fishing bag clinks with beer!’

MUSICAL CAREER: In 2003, he won the Celebrity Fame Academy competition. He has released two singles; ‘When I Need You’ which reached No.5 in February 1998 and ‘No Matter What I Do’ which reached No.23 in June 1998. On his music career, ‘I got out of the record company in 1998 because they wouldn’t let me do my own music. I would love to release another record, but it would have to be the right deal. Music is my passion and I’m still writing.’
