CASUALTY has won a BAFTA award for ‘Soap & Continuing Drama’ beating off competition from soaps Hollyoaks, Emmerdale and Coronation Street.
George Rainsford and Chelsea Halfpenny were in attendance at the event in London to collect the award.
George said “We’d like to thank everyone who watches the show. The doors of Holby City hospital have been open for 32 years, which is an amazing achievement, especially when you consider the dubious mortality rate of both the patients and staff there!”
Having been nominated 14 times in this category, they have only won this BAFTA title once before in 2007.
A well deserved win for Team Casualty after some fantastic storylines last year.
