Former HOLBY CITY actor Paul Shane has died, aged 72.
Most noted for his roles in comedy shows Hi-Di-Hi and You Rang M’Lord, Paul played porter Stan Ashleigh in the medical drama between 2000-2003.
He died in a hospice in Rotherham on Thursday after a short illness.
Linda Kremer, his agent of 15 years, said: ‘He lightened my life and I’ll miss him enormously. Paul Shane was a consummate professional, a true gentleman, a good friend, and a joy to work with over the past 15 years. He didn’t suffer fools, always maintained his sense of humour, and never stinted on the time he gave to his fans.’
He leaves behind three daughters and six grandchilden – his wife Dory died in 2001.
