Fans bid a tearful goodbye to Essie this week when she peacefully died in a wheelchair, as she made her way to the multi faith room with Fletch to go and marry Sacha.
In emotional scenes, Fletch has to break the news to Sacha and her colleagues who were eagerly anticipating the last minute wedding. Despite being terminally ill, fans were left shocked at her sudden demise and that she didn’t quite get the happy ending she wanted.
Actress Kaye Wragg joined the medical drama back in May 2014 as nurse Essie and will be a much missed character on the wards.
As Holby City now goes on another hiatus, another much loved character, Ric Griffin’s life hangs in the balance.
