Episode Summary
Matt intervenes when a cleric attacks the drunken driver who mowed down his sister and niece. The cleric explains that his distress is made worse by the awareness that he has a public role to fill.
A six year old girl, distressed when told Father Christmas does not exist, runs into the garden, smack into the greenhouse. Staff are amazed at her father’s insensitivity, and Jude asks Matt to arrange for the Santa from a children’s ward party to visit her. Santa duly pops his head round the girl’s curtain and she drifts off into a happy sleep. Jude thanks Matt. But he is perplexed; he was unable to arrange the visit as the ward Santa was off with flu.
Jude tries to tell Matt she is pregnant, but then changes her mind when she hears that he has been asked to run a bar in Crete.
