Episode Summary
New Consultant Mike Barratt joins the team. Norma is still stressed over her mother. An unhappy Maxine tells Charlie her father has left home. Ash is upset over Nikki’s abortion and Sandra realises she doesn’t know as much as she thought about Julian.
An elderly lady, Mary, bullied by her friend, Hilda, and rival in love for sixty years is both sad and relieved when Hilda has a stroke and dies in A&E.
A young depressed mother, Carole, is treated by Mike and Duffy, after she has slashed her breasts. Her husband, Denis, arrives, baffled at why she would harm herself.
A busy couple, Malcolm and Rosalind who run a sandwich shop, leave their young son, Tom at home. He electrocutes himself on a power point and is rushed into A&E. Paramedic Jane becomes too involved, while the parents blame eachother.
Duffy and Andrew have dinner – they kiss.

Duffy : You’ll have to go, I’ll see you later.

Duffy : I didn’t take a mortgage out on Holby.. I’m not cemented to the floor am I? (they kiss and the door opens, it’s Peter) Hello you, you’re supposed to be asleep.
Andrew : Oh he’s alright, come on you (Duffy smiles)
