Former CASUALTY actor Tony Marshall is set to appear in theatre this month.
Tony, who played receptionist Noel in the medical drama for 12 years, will star in ‘Jitney’ at the Leeds Playhouse from 16th October – 6th November.
Jitney stands out as one of the great American contemporary classics. Filled with conflict, love, jealousy and deceit, this groundbreaking drama is set in 1970s Pittsburgh and explores the fragile bond between eight unlicensed cab drivers as they live, love and work in racially segregated, post-war America.
Director Tinuke Craig said: “I’m really excited to have the chance to spend time with this iconic play and its wonderful characters. August Wilson is one of my favourite playwrights and I am thrilled to be making this show.”
The cast also comprises of Andrew French, Geoff Aymer, CJ Beckford, Leanne Henlon, Solomon Israel, Dayo Koleosho and Leemore Marrett Jr.

This is Tony’s first theatre venture since his character was killed off in CASUALTY at the beginning of the year. He did make a brief reappearance at the start of this series in a special flashback episode, which delighted fans.
