Former EastEnders actress Lucy Benjamin guest stars as Gina, in a special two-part episode to mark the start of the new series.
Adam and Kayleigh go missing, whilst visiting their grandfather at Holby General with parents Gina and Mick. Whilst out looking for his children, Mick discovers that their neighbour – a convicted paedophile – was the last person to see them alive. Although the man is not a suspect, Mick attacks him and he is taken to hospital. Gina later gives an emotional appeal at a press conference and asks for anyone with information to come forward.
Abs discovers that a woman, who says she is bruised from a drunken night out, was in fact raped. He persuades her to have a medical examination so that she has the option to report the crime at a later date.
Liz Carling rejoins the regular Casualty cast as Selena, a Police forensic doctor and her husband, DI Will Manning, conducts the search for the missing children.
Meanwhile, a passer-by finds Adam trapped in an underground drain. Nina and Luke head to the scene and, although Luke tells her to wait for the fire brigade, Nina goes in to save him – but will she get him out in time?
